Anchor Your Positive Feelings

joyHave you ever had a fantastic day when everything was going right? Or you were rejoicing when you received something you really needed or wanted and wished that these feelings of well-being could last a lot longer? There is a way to encode these uplifting energies by deliberately touching a particular part of your body so you can recall & re-experience them when you’re feeling down or want to be “on”. This technique is a “resource anchor” & was developed by Bandler & Grinder as an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Program) process. (Easy to research if you want more info.)

Choose a specific place on your body that you don’t normally touch – like behind your ear or inside the crux of your elbow when bent, the base of your throat or other subtle areas that wouldn’t be noticeable to an observer. (Don’t put it on the palm of your hand, for example, because it will wear off under constant touching.)

At the height of exuberance, simply touch your finger on this designated spot with medium pressure for 5 to 15 seconds to program this touch with the exhilaration of the moment. This can be done several times on the same spot & you can also layer other experiences of happiness by simply repeating the same process on the same spot.

Next time you feel discouraged, afraid or worried, touch this spot to elicit the elation anchored there. In this way, you can change your feeling state at will.

You can also set an auditory anchor by something you say to yourself during an intense desired state or a phrase you repeat out loud. Later, to retrieve the desired state, repeat the phrase.

A visual anchor might include looking at yourself in the mirror as you feel completely confident while practicing a presentation, for example. Then, before you give the presentation, look at your image in the mirror to access complete confidence.

Certain smells or tastes can also trigger negative or positive feelings. Experiment with the best anchors for you. Leave a reply to tell me what works.

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.

You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw
away your intelligence on just posting videos to your weblog when you could
be giving us something enlightening to read?
